The original form of the Parasitic Fungus came from the depths and caves of a single island which originally attempted to wage war against two neighbouring islands.
The first traces of it were located by explorers who discovered that there were animals, insects, fauna and fungi which were all capable of rapid growth and physical developmen in an absence of resources.
An increase in physical appetite and aggression combined with an ability to enable the consumption of foodstuffs which were otherwise harmful to humans proved the popularity of the parasitic fungus.
The parasitic fungus was stored safely and shown to the original Queen of a defeated island kingdom which suffering an artificial famine and post-war penalties by their two neighbouring islands after failed invasions.
She grew vast amounts of it in her palace and used it as a subsitute to enable her subjects to avoid starvation and suffering.
Her soldiers and the nobility received refined, purified versions as others took in a weakened variant.
The initial infection spread throughout the island. Quarantine was imposed and succeeded as the island was left to its own self-created doom.
