[THE FACILITY OF MYTH REDUCTION]

‘I was better known for my contributions to military and biological science.

Warriors who took mortal wounds and fought harder until death.

Limbs that could be reattached that were not their own, creatures who grew in size with each pound of flesh consumed.

Yes, some of my research was stolen by imposters from jealous competitors and barbarians of other lands.

I purposefully put in flaws in the alchemical amounts and contents to trick thieves.

Their own creations will likely turn on them before swiftly breaking down and exploding.

I smile at my own genius, such details were tricky to create without making them aware of the flaws.

Still, you never called me here to boost my own ego your Majesty.

How may I serve the mighty Emperor Inim-Gish of the Deserts and the Royal Family?

I am at your service. As ever. Your family, your daughters and sons, your wife and husband. Are they all well and healthy?’

[The Designer – Creator of the Guardian Statues in a conversation with the Emperor Inim-Gish of the forgotten Empire of the Deserts. Discovered in an archeological dig site and on display at the Belphus National Musuem of History]

Once gods were considered real.

Civilizations developed around them and included the concepts of human sacrifice and the gods once lived amongst us were both worshipped and feared.

But all of those stories and myths were never forgotten, some ancient tales had to be locked away for the safety of humanity.

Our job was to capture, contain and limit the spread of the old tales before the general public became aware of them and belief spread.

Humans have short memories for a good reason.

The gods aren’t real. They never were.

I should know. I was there when they were scattered to the winds.
